Hold a hand. Sing a song. Help with office work. Plan a special event. Address envelopes. Feed a pet. Make a speech. Reach out with a phone call. Listen to cherished memories. Greet visitors to our hospice home. Pat a shoulder. Give a hug. Touch a heart.
However you choose to volunteer at Circle of Life Hospice, there’s a place for you. Whether you want to work directly with our patients & families, or in another role, you can make a difference in someone’s life…starting with your own! Our volunteers often say, “I get back so much more than I give!”
Our volunteers are a critical part of our care team, serving our patients and families in both direct care and supporting roles. If you are looking for a meaningful way to give of your time and yourself, please contact our Volunteer Services Department at 479-750-6632 for more information or fill out the Volunteer Application and attend our next New Volunteer Orientation. Every volunteer must complete an 8-hour mandatory orientation. For patient support volunteers there is additional training required.
Volunteer Screening & Training Requirements
Prospective Circle of Life Hospice volunteers complete a Volunteer Application Form that includes references, a criminal background check, signed Confidentiality Statement, signed Code of Conduct, and Media Release (optional). Teens ages 15-18 may volunteer in certain supported settings and are required to have a signed Parent/Guardian’s consent. Volunteers who will have direct contact with patients and family members complete an initial 2-step TB test. Most volunteer jobs require the completion of our New Volunteer Orientation, with “live” classes scheduled quarterly.
Please note: TB SKIN TESTS and criminal background checks are required for all volunteer jobs at Circle of Life Hospice
