RN On Call
RN On Call Prn: as needed
: An integral part of the hospice interdisciplinary care team responsible for taking patient & family calls after hours on weekday nights and on Saturday days. This position has support of RN with secondary call duties. Triages patient calls, attends deaths, and makes home visits as needed. Work schedule includes requirement to attend weekly team meetings and other staff meetings as requested. May admit patients into the outpatient hospice program at times.
Current Arkansas RN License, without restriction; valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and reliable transportation. Current TB skin test documentation, annual TB fit test, annual flu vaccine and current CPR certification. High level of problem solving and decision making skills, ability to work with numerous family issues; strong hospice clinical skills. Demonstrates above average clinical nursing and assessment skills. Compassionate, caring individual with an ability to cope with human suffering, emergencies and stressful work conditions. Prefer five years of hospice, home health or acute care nursing experience and Hospice and Palliative care nursing certification as well as a minimum of 3 years related management experience. Frequently exposed to unsanitary home conditions, driving in isolated areas or heavy traffic, and during the night time. Exposure to infectious diseases and conditions. May require long hours to ensure patient coverage. Ability to bend, lift, stand and sit for extended periods of time and safely lift up to 50 lbs. May work in homes that are not wheelchair accessible.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Associate degree in nursing required.
