Arkansas National Guard Joint Force Headquarters Air Force Chaplain, Shane Pair, has had multiple deployments working with combatants. Join us as he explains the difference between PTSD and PTS, as well as provides tools in assessing and identifying depression and suicidality in veterans.

Shane will discuss traumatic events specific to the veteran experience, which may present in a clinical encounter. He will discuss the importance of situational awareness and provide a thorough understanding of the various ways that PTSD may present. Shane will also review communication, trust and rapport building strategies. He will discuss common communication missteps and provide education surrounding veteran language, culture, and the valued relationship of a common bond through brotherhood for those that have served in the United States military.
